Kristy Cole received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education in 1996 from Millikin University. Over the past 19 years, Mrs. Cole’s teaching career has included K-12 classroom, choral, and theater education in the Nokomis, Petersburg, and Williamsville school districts. She has been teaching 4-5 grade general music at Sherman Elementary School and 6th-8th grade chorus, ukulele, and musical theater at Williamsville Junior High for the past 11 years. Her choirs at Williamsville Junior High have consistently won 1st place ratings at the IESA Organizational Contests, with the award of “Best of the Day” being awarded the last 9 years in the row. She will be the guest conductor at the 2014 IMEA All-District Music Festival in November.
She has also been guest conductor of several area county festivals, and is often adjudicator for area contests and music festivals. She loves theater, and has been seen on both the New Salem and Muni stages. When not teaching, she loves being a mom to her two sons, being active with her church’s music worship team and youth Christian education, traveling, and hanging out with her family and friends.
